This weekends run was a fairly uneventful one. Tried out the Jedi running masters super dooper bottle belt with extra storage pouches. In my head I was Lara Croftesque in my appearance with my bottle strapped in a holster in my waist & jelly babies in the pouch for a mid run energy boost. I suspect however that is the last person that people would have been comparing me too as I puffed my way past them.
I need to decide what method I am going to use to carry snacks etc on day of race, there is only so much you can fit in the tiny little pouch on the back of running leggings & sweaty Betty jelly babies funnily enough don't appeal.
Also toyed with my eating of snacks this week. Eating a jelly baby on the run is harder than you think. It takes me ages to chew on it to the point I could swallow it. Will try with tablet next week.
Saw 'born to run' man as he will now be know to all I tell the story to (errrmmm not many as it stands as I still turn crimson at the thought of it) & he smiled, nodded an ran past me at an alarming speed. This was probably to ensure I didn't interfere with his training results again.
On the subject of my results I haven't been downloading my runs from the Garmin. The fact that I am still alive and have completed the run is more then enough for me, the data keeps the Jedi running master happy though as he can talk about race pace etc. I listen intently agreeing with his ponderings about the possibility of well under two and a half hours.... Hhhmmmmmm or is that eeeeeeekkkkk"!.... I am now the sole proud owner of the Garmin Forerunner 305 as Jedi Running master has tech'd himself up to a newer model for his upcoming Highland Fling ultra. There is also the small matter that I have absolutely no idea of how to get the data from the watch and download it to the program i have no idea where, to get the pretty graph that shows me where I have run on a map just in case I have forgotten......On the plus side lots of new season running gear online now so will have 'such fun' (really must stop quoting Miranda) choosing my outfit for the day........
